What the E05 error means

The float switch on the side of the tub trips when water rises above the safe operating level. That can happen because too much water entered (water inlet valve sticking open) or because water can’t leave fast enough (drain blockage). The control board cuts the cycle and shows E05. Some sources list E05 alongside E01–E04 as power module faults, but the overfill interpretation matches most owner reports.

How to fix the E05 error

  3. Clean the filter and check the float. Remove the bottom rack, twist out the circular filter, rinse, and refit. While the filter is out, check the small plastic float on the floor of the tub — it should sit flat and lift freely. Wipe away any debris holding it up.
  4. Check the non-return valve. The non-return valve prevents drain water flowing back into the tub. If it’s clogged, water can’t exit properly. Accessing it usually means partly removing the tub on most models — that’s a deeper job.
  5. Inspect the drain hose. Pull the dishwasher forward, disconnect the drain hose, and run warm water through it to clear obstructions.
